So far, I've had varying luck getting floppy drives to work. It was working yesterday, but it's not working today.

As of today, when I try to write to the floppy disk, I get a permission denied error. At first, I suspected that the problem might be the permissions being set by the automounter. However, when using Konqueror to browse to the server share (e.g., 'smb://ws110/floppy'), totally by-passing the automounter, I get the same problem -- I cannot write to the disk or delete any files from the disk, although I can read from the disk.

Is the automounter/smbmount supposed to override the permissions set by the samba server (when using fmask=666 and dmask=777 as options)? I would guess not, so this would tell me that there may be an issue with smb.conf. But, I don't see why this would change from one day to the next.

Anyone have any ideas?
