Now that I've (almost) got the "proof of concept" machines working the way
I want them, I'm starting to think a bit about the actual deploable
systems.

What they need to do, insteed of presenting a ?dm login screen, is as
folows:

1. Sart X
2. ssh/rsh to a workstation specific remote Sun box, and run a script
that will start a vnc server on that machine.
3. start vncviewr running conected to the above vnc server.

This will esult in a control system display coming up on the LTSP
workstations.

I'm thinking I can modify the startup scrips that are describe so nicely in
the 4.1 documentation to acomplish this.

Make sense?

Any sugestions as to a better way to do this?

If you arw wondering why I want to use vnc to display from a Sun box,
rather than native X, it has to do with color and font issues. I need the
LTSP workstations to look "just like" the local displays on the Suns.

And thaks very much for all the hard work that has been done on the LTSP
project. It's really fantastic!
