Hello, Perhaps some one has some tricks they can pass on toltsp is a great project and I congratulate everybody who contributes. We are running our entire open source internet cafe on ltsp 4.0 and in the process advocating and promoting the use of free software.
me. When I try to play music on the workstation the
sound comes out on the server. I have a soundblaster
pci audio card. I'm running ltsp 4.1 on a suse 9.0
server. I set SOUND = Y in the lts.conf default
section. The sound drivers appear to load on the
client. I tried running xmms, but it crashed to the desktop
seeming to indicate I'm missing a plug in or
something. So then I tried Juk which seemed to play,
but as my startled wife can attest, outputted to the
server.
There's not much in the archives on sound for 4.1
yet, just the old 3.0 stuff...
Having said that - there are two *very basic* things that I would love to work reliability "out of the box" and which I feel warrants special focus i.e. 1) reliable and robust remote floppy disk access and 2) remote sound.
As things are now it seems ltsp is a bit iffy and butty when it comes to doing these basic things and also lacking some good documentation on these topics.

Eugene
