A few ways:

1) Use mknbi-linux to set the parameters in the kernel itself.

2) Use dhcpd to tell the parameters. For example, configure the dhcpd.conf
with:

So add in the main configuration (to define these options):

 option option-128 code 128 = string;
 option option-129 code 129 = text;

And in the group (for the LTSP clients) configuration:

 # option 128 is etherboot magic to tell it to use extended options
 option option-128     e4:45:74:68:00:00;
 # option 129 is passed to the kernel as parameters
 option option-129     "ramdisk=65536";

3) If using PXE, then configure your pxelinux.cfg/ file using the "append"
directive. (This is what I use.)
