Hi,

not sure what causes this. Bootup hangs after the following messages:

Probing pci nic...
[3c590]utp[*utp*]: disable 'auto select' with DOS util!Ethernet address: 00:A0:24:96:07:D0
selected utp. (default)
Searching for server (DHCP)...

I'm using Etherboot 5.2.5 off a floppy disk. If I boot TomsRtBt off a floppy on the same box, it works with DHCP just fine, I can see the lease, ping hosts, etc. Same when using the DHCP server to connect from a Windows box. There is no other DHCP server on the network. I'm using LTSP 3.0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

Looks like you are using an existing DHCP server.
Did you stop the dhcpd service on the LTSP box?
Is the DHCP server setup so it gives out tftp information?

Configure DHCP for the LTSP Terminals
In the DHCP Service /Other DHCP Options tab page
Add the 5 values listed below:
       Code Option Name Value(s)
       6 Domain Name Server 192.168.10.2
       17 Root Path 192.168.10.1:/opt/ltsp/i386
       28 Broadcast Address 192.168.10.255
       66 TFTP Server Name 192.168.10.1
       67 Boot File Name /lts/vmlinuz.ltsp

It probably finds a DHCP server (or two) but not one that gives out tftp info.
