I found only two small "bugs": In Word, when I opened the pulldown font list, there is no handle to scroll it with the mouse. In Excel, on some machines, when you entered a formula into a cell and pressed the Return key, the picture didn't fresh up, so the formula remained until you forced Excel to refresh the display.
I also use Crossover for my LTSP setup and have no problems. In fact, with version 3.0.1, the scroll bar in the font drop-down displays as expected, unlike the previous versions. I don't know about the Excel problem described above, as my users have no need for Excel.
If you're truly stuck with Excel 97, then I would recommend Crossover.
