Actually no, ws is the prefix to ALL workstation hostnames.
OpenLab doesn't just bundle the standard LTSP, we've enhanced it in a number
of ways, and the installation is entirely non-interactive (e.g. it just
works) - which is what our users wanted.
Because we also develop the underlying distro, we know exactly what's where
and how everything will be set up, so we use this advantage. For example our
local device access is completely integrated with the user desktops.

Well that was the short version, it's certainly possible to expand it in a
number of ways, and I for one am open to suggestion. I had to come up with a
solution, and it had a deadline so I did the quick version.

That's true actually. I didn't have much time when I did this, it was
litterally a ten-minute hack job about 6 months ago, and because it worked
was never really enhanced further, as there was simply far more critical
things keeping me and my team busy.

I actually agree however, that a multi-logon block like this ought to be an
option at least in standard LTSP and if it's based on my system then I would
feel a bit flattered and little else. The distribution is our
gift-to-the-community work anyway, we earn our money in other things built
around it - so if the community can take a bit of it, enhance it and use it
then more power to them, for myself, the advantage of not having to maintain
it in a vacuum. Everybody wins.
