i've got the same printer, i've searched but was unabled to find a solution for this. (i'm convinced that there's one). I was in a hurry and i had to mount a "pritner" server, in order to use this one on the net, but it wasn't a bad idea 'cause i used it like a "multimedia" station:
actually i'm using on it: - 2 hp lj 1000 (having trouble at the start, not properly recognized as 2 different queues, i must unplug one of those when the server is starting so i can have 2 different queus) - 1 scanner: i've got a sanned server for all the clients - 1 digital camera: accesed from any host (thin client) on the net. So that was my solution sorry Sometime ago Dag Sverre Seljebotn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (exactly the Mon, 18 Oct 2004 21:26:10 +0200), wrote: > > On a regular Linux workstation, I have to put the *img file in the > > /etc/printer so the workstation send the file to the printer > > whenever it detects it on the USB port. > > > > Theoretical and real experience suggestions welcomed. > > Theoretical: Just do in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc what you would normally do > in /etc/printer. > > Isn't there a driver loaded as well, which takes care of uploading the > firmware from /etc to the printer?
