I am trying to set up a laptop with an Orinoco wireless PCMCIA card as an X terminal. I have LTSP 4.1 installed and it works perfectly with the built in ethernet card booting with PXE.
I downloaded the LTSP Wireless package and wrote the image to a floppy. It seems to boot and to recognise the card fine and it gets an IP address from the DHCP server. However, just after it gets to the line: Mounting root filesystem: /opt/ltsp/i386 from: 192.168.1.4 I get a never-ending series of the following error message: eth0: Error -5 writing packet to BAP I do not believe the error is related to the laptop as I get exactly the same sequence of events with a different laptop. I have also tried a Sitecom wireless card with similar (but different) errors. I know the wireless package is getting a bit long in the tooth now, but I wouldn't have thought that the client and server versions need to be closely coupled. I also saw in a message earlier in the year that James had a later version of the wireless package but it didn't fit on a floppy (couldn't we boot from a CD?). That doesn't seem to have surfaced yet (I am sure James has a million and one other things to do in addition to this). Can anyone help? ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588&alloc_id=12065&op=click _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
