I also had problems with this, but I had changed some NFS parameters so I am 
not sure if that it what affected my setup. I got around it very simply by 
changing the patch cable from the 1 GB connection on the 3COM router to a 
100MB connection. So far I have not noticed any speed issues, so I have not 
changed the NFS config back yet.
