Don't know about 1.0, but 0.9 definitively had that problem (Dell Optiplex 
something, onboard 3com NIC iirc). You could have a look at
http://www.kano.org.uk/projects/pxe/
(didn't try that software, just googled) - those old versions seem to need a 
pxe daemon running (which does something different than just dhcp ?)
Perhaps you'd be better off by putting a PCI NIC (realtek cheapo) with an 
etherboot ROM (which could support the intel thing though plugged into the 
realtek - just a bit of playing around) onboard?
