I neglected these two ...

How many nics do you have in your server?


I have two Network Interface Cards on the server, both NetGear 10/100 FA310TX cards,
one connected to the internet, the other to the client machine. The client has an ALLOY -1439XD
10/100 nic - but also a pre-existing one I did not know about but which I disabled when setting up
the WinXP-Win98 network by disabling all links to it in the appropriate config box.
I don't know if that's relevant here.


Do you really own the 203.79.110.0 class-c ?  or just some portion of
it?


My server DNS is 203.79.110.81 - I'm not sure how that relates to '203.79.110.0 class-c'.
I'm fairly sure I don't own numbers in the 203.79.110.* range.
