I've installed on Slackware 10 too. Like Eric said the install works fine once you get the required perl modules. After that I think there are some minor config issues that caught my attention:
* enable XDMCP via 'gdmconfig' gui (if you use gdm)
* start gdm on server with 'gdm --no-console'
* go into /etc/rc.d/rc.syslog and add "-r" after /usr/sbin/syslogd then restart the syslogd using './rc.syslog restart'. this will allow you server to recieve messages from the workstations.

BTW, these are the perl modules I had to download and install:
 * libwww-perl
 * Digest-MD5
 * HTML-Parser
 * HTML-Tagset
 * MIME-Base64
 * URI
 * libnet (I think this one already comes with Slack's perl install)

Keep us updated on any problems you run into.
