The funny thing seems to be they are not even expensive- at least one school I work for got a very nice price. Probably SUN wanted to show goodwill as one of their managers has two kiddies on that school. However, I'm not too sure wether those boxes are x86 machines at all. They are going to run some proprietary Java Desktop in that case (though the servers will be Linux) - it was not my idea to buy those boxes. Sun will ship those (and setup the network) in the third week of January, so I'll report shortly after that on what I think those boxes are worth in real life. Of course I'd love x86 hardware, and just install a parallel LTSP to their Sun stuff ;-) Btw we are going to get the non-integrated version, with 17" CRTs mounted below a glass surface that has been built into the pupils' desks. Pretty expensive (if not some professional desk manufacturer had been a very nice father, it seems :-), but much better than having 30 CRTs stand around in the room. Those integrated ones are basically the same terminal though, just without any screen device attached.
