I am trying to get sound working at the clients with Mozilla 1.7.3. I have tried RealPlayer 10, but apparently it isn't compatible with esd (or if there is a work-around, I haven't located it). Googling seems to indicate that RealPlayer 8 or 9 did work with esd, and if RealPlayer 10 was recompiled with esd support, it might work as well.
Sound is the last really, really important issue that I have to find a solution for, but it is becoming a challenge. Mplayer hasn't worked for me, nor Xine (in Mozilla as plug-ins). Suggestions?
