OOOps, I'm sorry. My posting below got send directly to Tim, should have been
to the list, of course.

Hi Tim and list...

- you write "..check to ensure that the client is using the proper XServer
driver. ÂI have found the vesa is rather horrible and is sometimes selected
automatically when a much better driver is available...."

- how do you select another driver..I know that in ltsp.conf you would write
like:

[ws009]
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂXSERVER = XF86_SVGA

- but I can't seem to be able to find a list of available servers? I seem to
recall they are located somewhere to be seen, but where?

- in addition; if one can fire up a workstation with a live
Knoppix/SuSE/Whatever CD and get a perfect X experience, then should it not
be possible to fire up the ltsp-workstation with that same X-server and
configuration file, copied from the live-CD?

- For example, I've got some machines that we'd like to use as clients, they
boot perfectly well with (and installs too) with Knoppix/DamnSmallLinux and
SuSE - but running as a client I get to the gray X server, sometimes with the
blue clockwork (of SuSE9.2/LTSP Server) showing. Then X crashes and respawns.
I (think) I've tried just any suggestion that this (excellent) list has :-)

- Anyhow, a wish for a HAPPY NEW YEAR goes out to all from here!
-
