Hi,
I am trying to get my old laptop boot as LTSP client from an LTSP 4.1 server. Since it has a PCMCIA network device, I'm using the wireless package from LTSP 3 for a boot disc. That works fine until the client tries to load modules for its kernel. LTSP 4.1 has a newer kernel version, so these files cannot be found. The missing module seems to realize swap over NFS, which I need since the laptop has only 8 megabytes ram.
So what can I do? Replace the 4.1 server with the old version 3? Are there disadvantages?
Or just install the missing modules for the client. Could that work?
Or is there newer a version of that wireless package? I cannot find the sources for that package, so I cannot compile it myself..
Thanks for help! Sebastian
