The LTSP notes mention using ldd to find all the libraries and then copy
them with the caeat that they may not have been compiled with the same
architecture as the client machine. I tried copying the libraries to the
LTSP root tree andthe whole system fell over and I have to re-install.

This isn't so easy. One way is to set up local applications according
to the Wiki instructions and then the NIS on the server then use ssh
to the thin client or run a shell from the screens.d. I went ahead and
did this and this part works.
If using ssh to start the local ap, every gnomemeeting reference must
first be copied from the server directories staring with the
gnomeeting binary and then libraries into /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/lib.
This risks code not being appropriate to the LTSP op system on the
thin client but I've tried it and it starts to run. It may work okay
eventually but in the meantime crashes because it doesn't find a whole
host of libnraries referenced in /usr/lib. The missing libraries can
be copied from the server to the LTSP directories and then after
running Gnomemeeting the next missing library is found
I played with this for a long time but there are lots and lost of
libraries to copy and then the symbolic links have to be placed
manually. It would be really nice if someone had already gone through
this so I know whether or not to just keep going or if there is a more
sensible approach to this.
Another approach might be possible to run Gnomemeeting as a screen
local utility in the way the VncViewer works. Unfortunately VncViewer
doesn't work with my machine because of some X start problem. The
VncViewer script is based on the startx script and start X works okay
so there may not be much wrong but there is a debug process to go
through. Again it would be great if someone could advise which would
be the best way to work at.
