Only general hints here, no knowledge about the issue.

Basically, there should be two ways of accomplishing this:
- Using the "chroot" command on the server, you can change the root of
the server to be /opt/ltsp/i386
- Temporarily allow write access in /etc/exports, and do the install
from the thin client. This adds the benefit of the hardware being the
correct one when doing the install.

Both of them have the problem that they rely on the installer not using
any tools that are not included in LTSP. And, propriotary graphics
drivers will often include a closed-source kernel module of some sort,
which needs at least a compiler (gcc) for the adapter layer. So one
would need to inspect the installation programs and see what tools they
needed and copy that over as well.

LTSP 5 will make this a lot easier, if things works out as planned.
