I think that's true. I just saw that it worked for Knoppix so I was going
to give it a shot.

I had also tried using mknod on the client to create the /dev/hd* files
myself with the standard major/minor numbers, but didn't have any luck
that way. Granted, I'm not real comfortable with device files so probably
left out a step or something.
