Is there any known deficiency with LTSP's JetDirect implementation? When the printer is connected to the server via USB, everything works fine. When I try to use hp-makeuri, the printer is not detected even though CUPS can print to the printer on port 9100.
According to http://www.lprng.com/LPRng-Reference-Multipart/x5171.htm it is possible to telnet to a JetDirect printer and use a command line interface. When I try this with an LTSP remote printer, I get connected but it seems like the help command "?" doesn't do anything. I posted some questions to the HPLIP forum on sourceforge but, so far, it seems like I am doing everything correctly. -- If you are an American then support http://fairtax.org (Permanently replace 50,000+ pages of tax law with about 200 pages.)
