If the desktops can boot using the on board nic and PXE, and you only need X11 and no mainframe stuff, that software is a waste of money. The way I understand what LTSP is: 1. A very small Linux distro which can be loaded over the network, who's only job is to have remote X11 sessions for client computer. 2. support software (LTSP, DHCP, NFS, TFTP, PXE stuff) for the above OS.
There is no need for that software unless the dells have some type of proprietary hardware, doesn't work with PXE, or there is something special you want to do with them.
