My "mistake" was to test my setup with Gnome's filemanager. It just never
occured to me that it might be part of the problem.
I have no idea why it doesn't work with Nautilus, but I'm too happy already
that it works with Konqueror.
Otherwise, I just followed the instruction here:

To summarise:
1. Update your LTSP installation with the latest packages : Run ltspadmin,
then choose the first menu. If you have configured it to point to
ltsp.org's website, then it'll be able to find & install any new packages.
2. Put the relevant lines in lts.conf (eg: LOCAL_DEVICE_01 = /dev/fd0:floppy)
3. Put LDA-setup.sh and LDA.shutdown.sh in /usr/local/bin
4. Configure the appropriate KDE scripts (/etc/kde/kdm/Xstartup and
/etc/kde/kdm/Xreset), executing LDA_setup.sh in the Xstartup and
LDA-shutdown.sh in Xreset.
5. Don't forget to make LDA-setup.sh & LDA.shutdown.sh executable: chmod
755 /usr/local/bin/LDA-s*
6. Reboot that workstation
7. Open Applications - Internet - Konqueror
8. In the address bar, enter: smb://nobody@<wks_ipaddress>
9. Sometimes Konqueror will report an error and doesn't show the floppy's
contents. If that happened, just press the REFRESH button. It should work
afterwards.
