jm,
I understand what you are trying to do, but I don't understand your
mapping below.
/opt/ltsp/i386 --> /bin ?
I don't get that.
ignore it then I was trying to show flipping of the ltsp within lbe to
lbe within ltsp, but my ascii art isn't upto it.
Building packages in the LBE is, for lack of a better term, a pain in
the ass. I should know, I wrote the damned thing, and it's a pain even
for me :)
It looks very built for purpose, ie booting via the network and
mounting via nfs with everything read-only. This last bit I've got to
say is my favorite. It seems some other distros like to write to /etc
and various
other places while booting.
Still, i'm happy to entertain the thought of flipping things around, if
you can actually make it work, and the end result is better than what
we
have now. my guess is that you'll get something to work, but it will
be
no easier than what we have now. Hopefully, you can prove me wrong on
that point.
To begin with what I'm trying to do is pretty insane anyway. If I ever
get it working I'll explain what I'm up to, if it doesn't work then I'm
the only one who knows exactly how insane I am.
I took a quick look at the layout of lbe earlier today and don't have a
clue where to start. I'll have to try and find where things start so
that I can unravel it. pointers?
At the moment, I'm just starting to write a package.def for perl so
I'll finish that and try writing package.def files for some perl
modules.
