John- BTW: This approach may not be the best for the drives, because every 10 seconds, you'll cause the drive to attempt to be mounted. This can really stress the drives, in particular floppy drives (picture dozens of grinding noises looking for a floppy to mount every 10 seconds). You may find that while it works around the problem, the drives stop working after a little while ;).
Just a heads up (no pun intended - drive heads, come on, people....) :) -Gadi On Mon, 2005-08-01 at 17:14 -0500, John McMonagle wrote: > Gideon > > Much better. > now: > #!/bin/bash > trap '' 1 > trap '' 9 > while true ; do ls /tmp/drives/* &> /dev/null ; sleep 10; done & > > At the moment not mounted and getting io errors on the floppy. > > Any way to get rid if them? > > John > > > > > Gideon Romm wrote: > > >Oops- > > > >That was too brief.
