Hi

/etc/named.conf is used in redhat/fedora to configure
the bind(DNS) daemon. The /var/chroot/etc/named.conf
is again used by redhat/fedora to operate bind in
chroot environment. The actual file depends how the
user has configured bind. (And no, /var/chroot is not
related to ltsp at all)

The /etc/host.conf (hosts, bind) tells the system to
look for the hostname in the hosts file first and then
try a bind name reslolution. Yes, an order like
(bind, hosts) could be the cause of this problem.
Similar setting are also required in the
/etc/nsswitch.conf file.

I was referring to the bind settings. Perhaps there is
some misconfiguration.

regards,
Mahesh M.
