Problem: I got ltsp running just great with many systems (well, just
four right now). So far so good. But the workstations only seem to
work with LCD monitors. When I try to use a CRT I get "HV Frequence
Over Range".

This confuses me. What's worse, I think it's because the system is
trying to feed the monitor more resolution than it can handle, but I
don't know how to fix it without lowering the resolution of everyone on
hte system.

You can specify monitor settings per workstation (or group of
workstations) in the lts.conf file, for example:

[myws]
X_HORZSYNC	= "28-96"
X_VERTREFRESH	= "50-75"
X_MODE_0	= "1152x864 83.54 1152 1184 1496 1528 864 881 890 908"
X_MODE_1	= "1024x768 64.56 1024 1056 1296 1328 768 783 791 807"

Beautiful.  thanks a bunch.
