About a year ago I set up a NoMachine server and co-located it at an
ISP, mainly for demonstration purposes. You could locate the server in
the head office or at an ISP. I use this server everyday for my desktop,
in fact I am using it now to write this response, the experience is the
same as a standard PC.

The server is about 100KM from here, if I hit print, the printer here
starts printing, no matter where I am in the World my desktop is
available, even over an old dialup modem link.

There is also an OpenSource version called FreeNX which uses the GPL
components of the NXserver and bash scripts to replace the NoMachine
proprietary components
