Thanks Umberto

What I want is choose the default printer for the machine, not for the user.
I imagine I can do this with 'lpoptions -d the_good_printer', but where can I put it? In a RC script with RCFILE_01 in lts.conf? Somebody ever tried that?

If you use cups for printing you can set the default printer
individually for each user with
lpoption ( see http://www.cups.org/man/lpoptions.html and

Hi all

If I put clients in several rooms, with different printers in rooms
(connected to clients), and one server, how can I have the printer which
is in client's room as default printer, or only printer available?

An example : rooms 1 and 2
client11, client12 and printer1 in room 1
client21, client22 and printer2 in room 2

Users have their personal login, they can use every client, with OOo,
Firefox and IceWM, everything is running on server side, but I can
change that if it's the answer...

If they login on client11 or 12, how can they find only printer1 in
printers list, or printer1 as default printer? And printer2 if they
login on client21 or 22?
I don't want to have a long list of printers (in reality there will be
lots of rooms and printers) where they must choose the good one, it's
for children.

Thanks
