Ummm I know that I was terce, but you misread some: Case 2: Suse Install + nfs-root == all processing done on the CLIENT > > I used ltsp-ize to make a flash+ram version fat-client also near perfect. > > Again, you are not sending the movie across the network. I think. I suppose again too terce: my DVICO cards are on the LTSP-SERVER (tigger) all of my boxen were mythtv-CLIENTS Each HDTV stream is 15 Mbit. 3 TV streams is 4.5Mbit and a pal dvd is less than 4.5Mbit > > > I watch 3 tv streams on the same network at the same time, just as > > perfect. > > Ummm, I may be wrong, but I think a tradtional TV stream is nowhere like > a DVD when it comes to bandwidth usage. Traditional TV and DVDs are identical, digital TV is not and BlueRay and HDDVD are not identical. Many DVD players offer composite or antenna out. PAL and NTSC have different bandwidth requirements. > > > Conclusion: NFS root == bad network video > > 100M network will support 2 ltsp + 3 TV without any ill > > effects My slight jerkyness on fast moving scenes et MotoGP, Footy are my > > videocard or the DVICO HDTV cards. > > From your (slight) explanation of the various cases you have been > thorugh, I am not entirely convinced you compare apples with apples ;);) > This is wrong context: my clients are VIA 533, Duron 1300, Celeron 2400, Celeron 1700, pentium-m 1400.
