if possible to increase perfomance for thin client connected by DSL (256 to 512

CenOs 4.1 + ltsp 4.1 + kde 3.3.1
my clients load kernel with pxe-boot(bios) [ filename
"/lts/2.6.9-ltsp-3/pxelinux.0"; ]
the time in load is around 5 minute and app run slow. these clients doesn't
have diskette, cd-rom
and ..... is not possible load kernel by boot-image.
note: i don't have problem with thin client connected by Lan (100 MB/s)
any tips for decrease latency
Is my understanding correct that you are booting off a client
connected to your server through DSL line? Very interesting. Can you
share your configuration?
isn't really DSL line. my provider installed dedicate line (256 kbps)
it's similar to connect one wire very very long in my intranet =)
OTOH if I consider that on a 100mbps (not 100 MB/s as you wrote) it
takes about 30 seconds for PXE boot and assuming that during this
while the max band width is about 20mbps it makes sense that you are
able to boot in 5 minutes.
when i connect by LAN (100 mbps) it takes about 30 seconds.
but when i connect by Dedicated Line (256 kbps) it takes around 5 minutes
[...]
now i tyring config ltsp+freeNX.
regards.
