Pritesh, please always post your questions to the ml for the benefit of other people and also do not use html markup (I prefer and recommend plain text).
Please check that you have the DISPLAY env variable set: open a shell on one of the terminals while in graphics mode (not on the server!) and type: echo $DISPLAY if it returns blank then you have something screwed in your ltsp setup, else it should say: hostname:x.y The snippet below should return hostname. Do the clients connect to the server and can you actually use them (except for local device access of course)? Can you post your client environment (copy and paste the output of the following command: env ) Best regards, Umberto On 22 Oct 2005 11:47:41 -0000, pritesh patel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > dear, > > i have installed ltsp-4.1.1 on the fc3 linux. > i want to mount local devices such as floppy, harddisk and cdrom. > i downloaded the lda-new archive and installed it... > but still it is not working... > > can u explain me my following query? > > what will the following entries of the file LDA-functions and LDA-startup > will do? > > MYNAME=`echo $DISPLAY | cut -d: -f1 ` > > i ran the command on terminal "echo $DISPLAY | cut -d: -f1" but it returned > blank... > i think the problem that the local devices are not mounted due to this.. > > i want your urgent kind reply... > > pritesh patel > (student of Masters of Computer Application, S P University, INDIA) > > > ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the JBoss Inc.
