If you are using GDM, you might try switching to KDM, to see how that
works.

And keep in mind that the choice of Display manager has nothing to do
with which desktop environment the users run (Gnome,KDE,XFCE,Icewm,etc)

If you do switch, you'll need to configure kdm to allow XDMCP
connections.

Thank for this tip. I have been having problems with processing continuing to run.
I am using GDM, but will look at either KDM or XDM.
