No problem, James,

It is a worry that you are saying words that don't make sense ...

You're Vulcan, aren't you...? :-)

I guess it would help to see your lts.conf file.

Ok, this is an excerpt:

#Buchhaltung
[ws040]
        SCREEN_01          = shell
        X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL   = "Microsoft"
        X_MOUSE_DEVICE     = "/dev/ttyS1"
        X_MOUSE_RESOLUTION = 50
        PRINTER_0_DEVICE   = /dev/lp0
        PRINTER_0_TYPE     = P

#Sekretariat PXE-Boot
[ws041]
#       LOCAL_DEVICE_01    = /dev/sda:USB
#       HOTPLUG            = Y
        SCREEN_01          = shell
        XSERVER            = radeon
        X_MODE_0           = 1280x1024
        X_HORZSYNC         = 24-92
        X_VERTREFRESH      = 50-160
        X4_MODULE_01       = glx
        PRINTER_0_DEVICE   = /dev/lp0
        PRINTER_0_TYPE     = P

Client 040 runs perfectly, the new 041 doesn't. Meanwhile I found out that on 041, when you log in a shell and try access to lp0, it says "permission denied". Do you have any idea there? (On 040 again this runs without problems.)

What happens if you print a test file from yast?

Just "nothing", i. e. it waits for you to acknowledge printing. But this is no wonder, as Yast only sends a standard .ps file to the printer.
