Hello,
I have seen on this list a discussion about LTSP over WAN. I would be very
interested to implement it but I could not find any documentation about it.
Is there any URL where I could find something ? If not, what are tha basic
steps I should follow ?
As far as I understood, a "boot" server is required. What is it concretely ?
I would appreciate any kind of tips or experience.
Thanks in advance,
Catherine
Catherine,
This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but here is how we do it.
We have 5 sites connected by DSL, most of which are about 1 Mbs
connections. Each site has its own server. All terminals at a site boot
from the local server. There is a common file storage at the main
site. We use SMB to mount and share those files on each of the remote
servers. We do not have a heavy need for sites to access the common file
storage. Most sites keep files on their local server. This has worked
well for us so far.
