Hi folks,

Jim McQuillan gave a lecture, last week, here in Brazil about the
LTSP 4.2 state (a very good lecture!!)
He told us we can put at ltsp.conf an entry enabling the SWAP over
the network.
I'd like to sugest a complimentary approach (as I did to him here
in Brazil).
At the [Default] section could exist an entry like
ENABLE_NETSWAP_OVER_X_AMOUNT_OF_MEMORY (or something like that) in order
to automagically enable SWAP if the LTSP found a workstation with less
than X_AMOUNT_OF_MEMORY. To exemplify:

ENABLE_NETSWAP_OVER_X_AMOUNT_OF_MEMORY = 32 MB

That means if the workstation has less (or equal) than 32 MB of
RAM memory so the network swap will be enabled automagically. If the
workstation has more than 32 MB so the swap will not be enabled (unless,
of course, there is a explicity entry at the workstation section saying
the contrary).
We are using LTSP here at Banco do Brasil (the largest Bank in
South America) in some projects. If you guys want some more information we
can supply. BTW, great project yours!! Congratulations!

Regards.
