Our LTSP network has 20 clients, but they are rarely up all in the same time,
usally 10-15 number of clients running simultaneously. The server is a
HP-Compaq ML350 with a 3GHz Xeon cpu, and 2GB ram. The hard drives are
ultra320 in raid 5. This server can be upgraded with a second processor if
neccessary.
So far I hasn't got any problem with the power of the server. The ram usage is
maximum 1.2 GB, the cpu power seems to be more than enough. And it's not only
an ltsp server but a samba fileserver for the windows clients also. We are
also using OpenOffice, Firefox and KDE, and a java based project manager.
It seems to me that the most important part of a good ltsp server is the lot
of memory and the fast hard drives.

Best regards,
Istvan
