Hello!

I have one old computer configured as terminal client. All is runing
well despite the soundcard. It's an ISA soundblaster vibra 16xv. Having
installed SuSE on the system, I found out that snd-sb16 would be the
right kernel module. So I added this to the lts.conf. The module is
loaded without problems but when it's on the sound server to start, the
following messages appear:

Running Sound Server
accepting connections on port 16001
/dev/dsp: no such file or directory

As the result xine refuses to start (xine-engine on amarok) telling that
there is no soundcard present.

I read the wiki and tried what is written there but these solutions
don't work because they are written for erleaer versions of LTSP.

So my question is how to get the sound server starting and the soundcard
running.

thanks, Roland

(running OpenSuSE 10.0 on the server)
