I'd like to thank you all very much for sharing your advice, insights, and experience about whether I should put Windows Server 2003 or Linux on our new server. Our new server arrived yesterday on the feast day of our monastery, and I installed Suse Linux 10.1 on it last night. I don't have anything configured on it yet, but at least it is running! Thank God!!!
This new server is a very impressive machine. The carton that they delivered weighed in at 151 pounds! It weighs roughly as much as I do! More than me, sometimes. Unbelievable! And yes, it's fast. It is too nice of a machine to put Windows on. And I appreciate that you all gave me enough ammunition that I did not have to do that, and that you saved me a lot of time and headaches. Many thanks.
