OK I need some help if you want the solution: FIFOs are 1/2 duplex ie you need 2 fifos, one for in and one for out. If that won't work with Rosegarden then I also need a write a module to connect infifo and outfifo to /dev/midiBLA. (or whatever else Rosegarden will use, and be a good fit for whatever other midi stuff could be used) This is Rosegarden fiddling that you can do as I get the client /dev/midi<--->lan running. So what I need to know is how to interface Rosegarden-on-server-machine to [something-on-server-machine] that is connected to client-/dev/midi James ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
