Hi, After successfully getting some of our wyse winterm 8360se to work with ltsp, by the means of flashing the linux kernel and initrd from /tftboot to the flash memory. I have come up against some weird problems with some of them reporting an incorrect mac address.
It appears as if all versions that have a system board revision of B1 work like a charm. However anything earlier (A,B) report a mac address of 00:00_00:00:00:00. The REALLY odd thing is that the "bios" that runs on power up displays the correct mac. The kernel we are using is 2.6.17.1-ltsp-2 (havn't got the latest kernel to even boot yet, but I think that may be a problem with the make-nk program from winterm.gaast.net, or at least, more probable, problem on my part I haven't worked out yet). I thought it may have been a problem with the flash card, but inserting that into a B1 system board works ok. We are now looking at two possibilities, trying a PCMCIA lan card or trying to pass a MAC address as a kernel parameter (not sure if this will work given above problems with make-nk but worth a try) Or of course any other ideas? -- Kind regards Alistair Crust Systems Administrator Skegness Grammar School Vernon Road Skegness PE25 2QS TEL: 01754 610000 (ext'852) FAX: 01754 896875 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
