Have you read about sound and Java on LTSP yet? It was my understanding
that because Java doesn't use a sound abstraction driver, but tries to
write directly to the device, it was difficult to impossible to make sound
from Java work.
Another comment I have is this: If you can't do it, how can you estimate
that it's easy to do?
I'm very sorry that I'm not personally capable of taking care of your
problems in this situation, but I'm also fairly new to LTSP.
I hope you find the answers that you need.

Hi,
I have to come back with my request as it is not very difficult for
someone who knows LTSP. The problem is not actually to install a
webcam but to put together everything to make the system work. On
short, I want to connect two webcams to a terminal and use an
application for capturing the images and storing them to a server.
The application is a java pgm I did. I managed to install one webcam
to the terminal (!) but I wasn't able to put everything together. I am
stacked somewhere between installing a remote console to see the whole
thing at work and some and the remote filesystem setup. 90% done, 10%
to go.
I will reward someone willing to help me with the last part.
OS: SuSE 8.1
Webcam: Logitech
Other details at request
Regards
Alex
