You know, I usually use KDE as my desktop, so when I was building my
library terminal project, I tried using the kiosk admin tool to make a
restricted login for our patrons. I think it's a good idea, but I don't
think it's ready for prime time. I found it did not seem to work as
advertised, and the documentation was sketchy, at best. Ultimately
I gave up on it and used openbox because the config files were easy to
write, the documentation was good, and I didn't need all the bells and
whistles that come with KDE (or Gnome for that matter) for this
application. Just a data point.
