Thanks JK and JL, from your discussion so far it boils down to: 1) Upgrade LTSP4.2u2 and may be the main os either of FC5, *buntu, Debians [ My Linux exploration started way back 1999 with Slackware then RH, Tryed Mandrake,Knoppix,Busybox but not yet Debian, FC and Ubntu CD/DVDs came to me]Comfortable with RH RPMs
2) Upgrade to Gigabit Network [mine is mixed coax and cat5e + switch 10/100mbps ] 3) Upgrade the dual core CPU+2Gb RAM and [obvious] a mobo with high I/O capability. You not seem to consider AMD64. Well as many Linux users yes I am looking for solution with low money supply.
