Why should dns delay startup if it is working properly? Additional set
of names can be dispensed with if instead of name you use IP at the
nfs mount configuration.

The only reason I can think of slow down even after giving IP is that
your nfs host and server may not be on same subnet or gateway to nfs
host is not set properly.

IAC that is shooting in the dark.
