Hello All, I would like to know if I can access LTSP from another OS using a stand alone client application.
Here is my requirement: I have an application (Java based / X) on a Linux server that I want to be able to access from a remote computer - the remote computer is mostly running Windows OS or sometimes Linux OS. I achieve this on MS Windows by running this application on Windows server with Terminal Services and accessing the server using RDP Client from either Windows PCs or Linux PCs. I wanted to get a similar solution when I am running this application on Linux and while googling, I bumped into LTSP - a very interesting project. However, I see that LTSP can be accessed only after booting from a dumb terminal and not from within another OS like Windows or Linux (something like RDP Client). I checked / searched the docs for answer in vain. Couple of solutions I saw was to use VNC to access LTSP (http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/VNC), which is OpenSource and NoMachines NX (http://www.nomachine.com/download.php), which is commercial - but I would like to know if there are any other better (preferably Open Source) solutions. I appreciate any help or direction to achieve my need. Thanks, DuKo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
