>From another post, I found out that LTSP 4.2 update 4 was going to fix
my sound issues. As noted on the wiki, I saw:
* esound: - Part of the audio subsystem
o Added a patch to esd to allow it to NOT lock the connect to
the first user logged in. This fixes the issue where the 2nd
user to log into a thin client couldn't use sound without
rebooting the terminal.
o Added -as 1 to the invokation of esd to allow multiple sound
applications to connect to the sound server. This fixes some
syncing issues that many people saw.
But now none of my clients have sound :-(
I was wondering if anyone could point me to the exact changes so I can
maybe roll things back to help trouble shoot this issue.
When I watch the clients boot, everything runs fine (sound module
loaded, no error messages, looks just like it always has). But once I
start an app, there is no sound.
I had done a lot of work trying to solve this issue in the past, so I am
thinking one of my changes before is now affecting the update. But I
just can't figure out where to look.
I am running Debian Etch for the server, and have the following in my
esd.conf:
[esd]
auto_spawn=0
spawn_options=-terminate -nobeeps -as 5
spawn_wait_ms=100
# default options are used in spawned and non-spawned mode
default_options=
