Hi Chuck, *,

spent a good portion of my Saturday to come up with a step-by-step HowTo
on bringing a Network Station 1000 up with LTSP (4.1) and my custom
kernel. - Just have a look at the wiki:

http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/NetworkStation1000

@Chuck: I actually re-tried all steps myself in order to make sure that
this works. - I really hope that upon reading you might find the
"missing bit" for your setup. - For the moment, that's all I could do
for you. - Maybe you need to spent the hour it takes to re-do it
yourself.

However, I do have two GENERAL QUESTIONs:
- There is quite a bit stuff around regarding the troubles of remote
sound. - On my Netstation that worked out of the box. All I had to do
was to set my kde soundsystem to esd. - Why was that so easy? Or: Why is
it so difficult with i386/ltsp-4.2?

- Why is it, that ltspinfod puts so much load on the system? I do have a
medium load of 1.5 to 1.7. When installing "top" on the client I see
that ltspinfod uses about 90%-95% CPU-power. - PLEASE EXPLAIN!

Have fun!

Stefan.
