Hi all,
I'm working on deploying LTSP in a lab environment. In addition to a screen
that will allow the user to log in to a xdmcp server, and a screen that does
something similar for a rdesktop server, I need a screen that will run
Firefox locally (without a login).
Using the local-apps thing won't work for me, because that has to happen
*after* the user logs into the central server, which in my case, won't
happen all the time. The browser really has to be completely detached from
the server, running as the local user.
In short, something like this:
SCREEN_01 = startx -query 1.2.3.4
SCREEN_02 = rdesktop 1.2.3.5
SCREEN_03 = mozilla
I'd need to somehow start a local copy of X, some light and stripped-down
window manager, and then Firefox, right? Has anyone done anything similar?
Thanks much,
......jurgen
