What version of LTSP are you using?  LTSP 5, which comes with Edgy and
Feisty, uses LDM, but it sounds like you're trying to use GDM.  If you
want to use XDMCP, you have to set up GDM to accept XDMCP connections.

Also, make sure you have "SCREEN_07 = startx" in your lts.conf file.
